Question 1

Do you cater outside the restaurant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Royal Thai delivers and sets up catering at homes, offices and event venues in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Provide the address in the catering enquiry form and it is confirmed with your quote.

Question 2

How many guests do you cater for?

Accepted Answer

From small private dinners up to large parties and receptions. The menu and quantities are built around your expected guest count.

Question 3

How far in advance should I book catering?

Accepted Answer

The earlier the better, particularly for weekends and the December period. For a date that is close, call the restaurant on 020 626 72 61 for an immediate answer on availability.

Question 4

Can you cater for vegetarians and for guests who do not eat spicy food?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Royal Thai vegetarian selection covers starters, soups, curries, stir-fries and rice dishes, and spice levels are adjusted per dish or per group. Allergies and dietary requirements can be noted in the enquiry form so the chef can plan around them.

Question 5

Which Thai dishes work best for gluten-free or dairy-free guests?

Accepted Answer

Much of the menu is built on rice, rice noodles and coconut milk rather than wheat and dairy, which makes curries, steamed rice and many stir-fries a good starting point. Standard soy sauce contains gluten and peanuts appear in satay and Massaman curry, so note the affected guests in the enquiry form and the chef will select and adjust dishes accordingly.

Question 6

Do you set the buffet up, or is it delivery only?

Accepted Answer

Royal Thai brings the food in warmed chafing dishes with serving equipment and arranges the buffet at your location, so it is hot and ready to serve. Drop-off only is also possible if that is what you prefer.

Question 7

What does Thai catering from Royal Thai cost?

Accepted Answer

Every catering is quoted individually, because the menu, guest count, location and level of service all affect the price. Submitting the catering enquiry form returns a tailored quote at no cost and with no obligation.

Question 8

Can we hold the party at Royal Thai instead?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Groups can be seated at the restaurant at Lange Leidsedwarsstraat 94, a short walk from Leidseplein. Mention the group size and date in the catering form, or book a normal reservation online.
